I recently had the great privilege of being invited to a church in Arvada, Colorado to participate in an event designed to raise the awareness of the church members with respect to issues around racial inequality in the criminal justice system, mass incarceration in America, and the private prison industry. The church held a screening of the Netflix documentary "13th" for church members, and afterward hosted a panel discussion featuring a variety of people who have been impacted in different ways by the injustices of America's "justice" system. I was privileged to be able to participate in this panel, along with podcaster and Cell Church mentor Nick Arnold, who interviewed me for his Redemptive Revolution podcast. The church has responded well, and our ministry has already been contacted by members whose hearts God has moved to get involved in serving prisoners.
If you would like to hear the panel discussion, you can listen by clicking HERE or on either of the images in the post. Please pray that the Lord would continue to lay a burden on the heart of His people to fight injustice and to strive to see God's perfect righteousness reflected in our human criminal justice systems, insofar as that is possible before Christ returns (Matt. 6:10)!
